Single telephone access through NHS Direct to GP out-of-hours care

Rationale

The Priorities and Planning Framework states that: By December 2004 a single telephone call to NHS Direct will be a one-stop gateway to out-of-hours healthcare, with callers passed on where necessary, to the appropriate GP cooperative or deputising service.
